FAQ

How do I prepare for my yoga practice?

· Drink water an hour before practice.

· Try and avoid eating 2 hours prior to yoga practice.

· If you are hungry or need energy, drink half a glass of juice before class.

· Use the restroom prior to class.

What do I wear to yoga?

· Clothing should be non-restricting and comfortable.

· Wear appropriate undergarments. Women should refrain from wearing a bra with an underwire.

· Wear clothing that can move with you and not bind your movements.

What should I be aware of during your my session?

· Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class to take care of any fees and to mentally prepare yourself for yoga.

· There is no competition in yoga, not even with yourself. If you feel that an asana is not right for you, or causes you pain, come out of the pose. We can find an alternate pose or a modification for you.

· Remember to always breathe through your nose, not your mouth. Unless otherwise stated, this is the standard yoga breathing style. The nose filters air and warms it before it reaches your lungs.

· Be in the moment every time you do yoga. Do not worry about what happened in the past, or what will happen in the future. You are in the present, and in yoga, that is all that is important.

· Listen to your body.  Too often we ignore the signals our bodies relay to us.  Yoga is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with our internal conversation.

What do I do after class?

· Drink 1-2 glasses of water. Your body used a lot of energy and needs water to replenish what it used to purge toxins and pollutants.

What if I have further questions?

· If you have questions about your practice or want to contact me or another instructor, please do not hesitate. Yoga is a life changing experience, but it isn’t one that you have to experience alone. We can help you find the answers you need to enhance your yoga practice.
